Classical Teacher Training

Core Mat I is the foundation of the Power Pilates program. Each subsequent program builds upon the information learned during this course. During Core Mat II, students will learn the intermediate exercises and continue to expand on their teaching skills. In Core Mat III, students will learn how to incorporate advanced exercises safely and effectively into their clients' repertoire.
Joseph Pilates' system of contrology utilized many pieces of equipment that evolved into the apparatus found in todays pilates studios. The Comprehensive training is Power Pilates' most extensive program and covers beginner, intermediate and advanced levels utilizing the Pilates apparatus - Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-Pull and Magic Circle - as well as understanding how to work with Special Case clients. The program is a 600 hours and takes 6-12 months to complete.

32 hours - Core Mat I and II (required)
72 hours - 4 Comprehensive weekend intensives
156 hours- Observation Hours
156 hours- Practice Teaching
116 hours- Self Practice
16 hours - One Weekly Advanced Mat Class*
24 hours - One Weekly Apparatus Session*
24 hours - Apprentice Meetings
4 hours - Final evaluations

These are the minimum hours to graduate the program. Most students go over the minimum requirements in several categories
Power Pilates welcomes experienced Pilates instructors to attend our Comprehensive program through the Bridge option. Prior Pilates experience must include: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced level training on Mat, Reformer, Chairs, Cadillac, and Barrels. Bridge participant, are required to attend all weekend intensives of our Comprehensive program. Completion of any apprentice hours or attendance of weekly meetings is advised after Bridge audition.
